The Wilderness Systems Tarpon 140 kayak is the perfect kayak for the kayak camping enthusiast. Built with stability and speed in mind, the Tarpon 140 features an extended cargo area for maximum storage of your gear. The Wilderness Systems Tarpon 140 kayak also makes for a very nice kayak fishing adventure. The Tarpon 140 is also available with an optional rudder to improve tracking and stability.
Pros
The Wilderness Systems Tarpon 140 kayak has more cargo space than any other sit on top I’ve ever paddled. This kayak glides so nicely over the water, even when packed to full capacity. I especially enjoyed the ample tankwell bungees and spacious hatches. One thing is for sure, you won’t run out of places to put gear in the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 140 kayak.
Cons
I found the Tarpon 140 kayak to be a little more difficult to maneuver than lead to believe. While the Tarpon 140 kayak’s agility is more than most would expect from a sit on top kayak of this size, Wilderness Systems certainly boasts a higher level of maneuverability than the Tarpon 140 can provide.
Overall Review
I would rate my review of the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 140 kayak as 4 out of 5. Setting aside the maneuverability issues, the Tarpon 140 kayak really shines in areas such as storage capacity, speed, and acceleration. With all that extra space the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 140 kayak really takes the cake for sit on top kayaking.

I’ve used Wilderness Systems products before and absolutely hate them. The quality is crap. Don’t recommend picking up this one.
