Deck bungees are a must for any serious kayacker, and the Carlisle Deck Bungee Kit is one of the best products on the market. This kit, selling for $24.95, contains an 8 foot long shock cord, 4 strap eyes and rivet. The kit is easy to install and with its long cord will actually hold more than, for instance, the 6 strap eyed version that Watersports sells, as there is 2 more feet of cord with the Carlisle model. There are some super cheap deck bungee kits out there. Ignore them. It is better to pay few extra dollars and work with a durable product that will keep your gear safe, no matter what spills your kayak takes.
