The Carlisle Footbrace Kit is the Cadillac of footbrace kits. At $49.50, you are paying more than your standard kit, but the Carlisle model has several advantages. The two runners are 22 inches long, giving kayakers more than a half of a foot extra length to work with, and the action of the runner is especially smooth. It never seems to bind and is easily adjusted with a tap on the foot trigger. Its one disadvantage is you have to reach into the kayak to adjust the footbrace closer, but that is true of most models. If one setting suits you, I would recommend a cheaper brand, but most serious kayackers will like the ease of use.
