Made of Pelican’s exclusive RAM-X material, this is a maneuverable, short one- or two-person canoe. It has two molded bench seats, a sturdy center thwart, aluminum gunnels with a protective sleeve, and carrying handles at the bow and stern.

The most common complaint is that the hull scratches too easily, and if you’re assembling the canoe yourself you may want to spring for sturdier hardware. Otherwise, the Navigator is a good, inexpensive canoe for beginners or anyone who wants to spend time calmly traversing a lake or lazy river.
