Azul Atlantis DLX Kayak Review

For kayakers who demand the best for their money, the Azul Atlantis DLX kayak is a great choice! The Atlantis DLX sit inside kayak from Azul is just the ticket for those interested in getting started. It features a tri-hull design that provides the stable and sure-tracking ride required by recreational paddlers. The Atlantis provides ease of entry and exit and an extra large cockpit to ensure you won’t feel claustrophobic. The impressive handling and maneuverability in choppy water will ease a paddler’s anxiety. It will also please those ascending the kayak skills ladder, regardless of size or age. Here is an Azul Atlantis DLX Kayak review from an avid fisherman along with product info, features, and specifications.

Pros

The Atlantis DLX has some extra touches you’ll appreciate! Expand your kayaking with the aft hatch and go after the lunkers with the fishing rod holder! I enjoyed it better than I did the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120 Angler Kayak. Comfort and convenience are well handled with the Azul Atlantis DLX kayak. Not only is this boat sure footed, but it’s very safe and incredibly easy to portage. At only 41 lbs, it is a snap to shoulder carry from your car to the shore. Azul has provided convenient carry handles at both the bow and stern, and the comfortable thermofoam seat keeps you purring while you paddle. To keep you completely dry from paddle drip, the optional spray skirt is certainly a nice touch.

Cons

Unfortunately, Azul has gone under due to economic troubles. While Riot Kayak, the mother company, is still alive and well, Azul is now out of production and as such these kayaks are in limited availability. If you can get your hands on one, I’m sure you’ll be impressed by the quality to cost ratio.

Overall Azul Atlantis DLX Kayak Review

I would rate my Azul Atlantis DLX kayak review as 4 out of 5. The Azul Atlantis is ideal for an initiation to kayaking or to enjoy years of leisurely pleasure. Comfortable and maneuverable, its advanced tri-hull design provides stability and the sure-tracking ride required by recreational paddlers. A wide cockpit ensures nobody feels claustrophobic, and the adjustable seat back and foot pegs allow paddlers of all shapes and sizes to get the control and comfort found on much more expensive kayaks. It was one of the more comfortable kayak reviews I’ve done.

The Azul Atlantis DLX is further enhanced by a fishing rod holder, and adjustable backrest with thermofoam seat and back covers. It even has the Easy Drain System – so you can easily drain the cockpit when taking on water! This is such an advantage when your cockpit has mud or sand in it. At 9’6” in length and weighing only 41lbs, the it is easily portaged and car topped. It will bring years of fun paddling and kayak fishing!
