The Bass Pro Shops MegaCast baitcast reel is a great fishing reel for fisherman of all skill levels. The MegaCast baitcast reel is super lightweight, plus it has a ton of nice features. In my review of the Bass Pro Shops MegaCast baitcast reel, I will outline some of the feature I really liked about this fishing reel.

The Bass Pro Shops MegaCast baitcast reel features a 4-bearing reel system, plus a10-position magnetic braking system. This allows you to keep control of your line, regardless of how big the fish is. The Powerlock™ instant anti-reverse system also comes into play here. With all these systems working together, the Bass Pro Shops MegaCast baitcast reel really does a nice job. The 6.3:1 gearing ratio provides an effortless reeling experience. I really enjoyed this while I did my review of the MegaCast baitcast reel, because I wanted to give it a good test.

I was going to give the MegaCast reel a good test in this review, so I went fishing for catfish. Catfish are well known for the stress they put on your fishing reel, so I thought I’d give that a try. The Bass Pro Shops MegaCast baitcast reel really did a nice job! I hooked two Catfish that put up a great fight; one at six pounds and one at six and a half pounds. The Bass Pro Shops MegaCast baitcast reel handled the catfish like a champ, and I was home from my review in less than five hours (including drive time).

I would rate my review of the Bass Pro Shops MegaCast baitcast reel as 5 out of 5. When you combine the cost vs. performance ratio, the Bass Pro Shops MegaCast baitcast reel is really an outstanding value. If you are looking for a new fishing reel or just need a good standby rig, I would give the MegaCast reel a try.
