Clam Summit Ice Shelter Review

The Clam Summit Ice Fishing Shelter is a perfect addition to any angler in the dead of winter. This shelter allows up to four anglers to comfortably ice fish without the cost and inconvenience of hauling an actual ice house to and from the frozen lake.

Lightweight and portable, it accommodates 48 sq. ft. of actual fishing room covering an area of 6′ by 8′. This shelter features draft-sealed windows and a wind skirt that uses a zipper to prevent drafts from chilling out the anglers. It also comes complete with a carrying bag, four ice anchors and tie down ropes to secure the shelter.

Overall Review

Overall, I was extremely happy with my review of the Clam Summit Ice Fishing Shelter. It has a modern look at a reasonable price. Its portability was great and setup was easy. The shelter secured safely and easily. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone not interested in a permanent ice house. One can simply purchase it and use it only a few times over the course of the year without breaking the bank.

I bought the Clam Summit because I was looking for something larger than the 70 x 70 I’d used for 3 years. First problem was the notably poor ice anchors but when the poles started poking through the sleeves it went on C List. I’ve now gone back to the E brand which is far better quality. Anybody need an ice anchor tool – because it doesn’t fit nor is it needed on the new anchors.
