Although the Old Town Vapor 12xt Angler kayak is not as premium as the Dirigo Angler kayak, it is still an excellent hunting and fishing kayak choice. While the Dirigo Angler kayak is made with three layer polyethylene construction, the Vapor is manufactured with single layer polyethylene. This makes the Vapor 12xt weigh a little more than the Dirigo Angler, and it also has a more flexible hull. However, this shouldn’t stop you from considering the Old Town Vapor 12xt Angler kayak as your next hunting and fishing kayak.
The Vapor 12xt Angler is still an incredibly durable kayak. The Vapor features 2 flush mounted fishing rod holders, comfortable thigh pads, adjustable foot pegs, and the Comfort Flex XT seat, which is an integrated padded seat back and seat pad system. The handy E-pad storage space provides safe and waterproof storage for your GPS, iPod, or cell phone so you can take your technology with you without any fear. Just like the Dirigo Angler, the Vapor 12xt Angler comes in 2 colors: camouflage for hunting or fishing and yellow for recreational use.
The Old Town Vapor 12xt Angler kayak is an incredibly stable and comfortable fishing kayak. The Vapor is very easy to maneuver, making it ideal for hunting applications as well. The E-pad storage space is also quite handy, making it easy to keep your GPS and iPod close at hand. Couple these things with the integrated fishing rod holders and premium seat pad system and you have one of the finest kayaks money can buy for hunting and fishing purposes.
The only thing I can say about the Vapor 12xt kayak that is negative is that I wish it used the same three layer polyethylene construction as the Dirigo Angle kayak. The single layer design makes the Vapor a bit heavier than one would like. However, I found no problems with the structural integrity of the hull as others have suggested. The Vapor 12xt kayak is still plenty rigid and durable enough to take on your favorite lakes and rivers.
I would rate my review of the Old Town Vapor 12xt Angler kayak as 4 out of 5 stars. The Vapor has plenty of features, is incredibly stable, and is overall a very solid kayak. While it is a bit heavier than the Dirigo Angler, I think you’ll find that it is a very negligible difference once you get the kayak out on the water.
