The Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak is the largest of three sizes released as part of the Mobius line of kayaks. Larger than both the Mobius 49 and the Mobius 57, this freestyle kayak will give you plenty of space in the cockpit while navigating your favorite paddling spots and it is the flagship of the Mobius line of kayaks.
The Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak is truly one of the largest freestyle kayak designs on the market. If you are a larger kayaker or just enjoy a spacious cockpit area, then the Mobius 65 is right up your alley. Though the Mobius 65 is larger than either of the other kayaks in the Mobius line, the large size doesn’t impact the performance whatsoever. The Mobius 65 kayak is just as fast and agile rounded edges, a curved bow, and fast-accelerating lines to be a bounty of performance without sacrificing comfort. Suitable for both beginners and advanced paddlers, the Mobius 65 kayak will adapt to your skill level and provide a fantastic kayaking experience for many years to come.
Performance and comfort are definitely the focus for the Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak featuring sculpted side walls that are built tough enough to handle any type of underwater threats. You will enjoy the easy maneuvering of this agile kayak as well as the excellent acceleration when you’re coming off of a wave. If you want a spacious cockpit that doesn’t cost you performance when you’re out freestyling, then the Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak is definitely a great choice for you.
During my review of the Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak, I feel like I really put it through the ringer. Having reviewed both the Mobius 49 and the Mobius 57, I had a pretty good idea of what to expect with the Mobius 65. However, I was pleasantly surprised with how well this freestyle kayak still performed with the additional size; in fact I would put it exactly on par with the Mobius 57. Great acceleration and mobility, plus the larger design seemed much more stable.
As with the other two kayaks in the Wave Sport’s Mobius line, the Mobius 65 performs well in both whitewater and surf. The Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak hits on every key factor I look for in a freestyle kayak, and the benefit of this particular model is that it offers some valuable cockpit space to boot. This kayak doesn’t quite respond to my body movements as well as a slightly smaller freestyle kayak would, but all things considered it is still a very versatile kayak indeed.
Cargo Space Review
If you compare the Mobius 65’s cargo capacity to the other two models, it is truly a night and day difference. Those extra few inches really make a huge difference, plus the added weight capacity allows you to bring along more gear for your voyage. While there are certainly other freestyle kayaks on the market that offer more cargo space, I feel that what you get with the Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak is more than enough for most freestyle kayaking excursions.
Though it is a little longer and heavier than the other two Mobius kayaks, I was still happy with how easy it was to handle the Mobius 65 outside of the water. The handle is perfectly positioned for easy portability, and the high-quality design and craftsmanship yield a very sturdy boat that is still very lightweight for its size. I had no problems loading and unloading this kayak from my roof rack by myself, so I think they crafted a pretty transportable kayak.

I would rate my review of the Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak as a 5 out of 5 stars. I truly enjoyed the extra space in the cockpit that this boat afforded me during my review; though at my size it was probably a little more than I really needed. However, at my age, I never complain about a little more luxury added to my kayaking trips. The Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak is a great choice for larger paddlers or those that love leg room, and like all Wave Sport kayaks, you can look forward to a very sturdy kayak that will stay in service for many kayaking seasons.
