Wave Sport Mobius 65 Kayak

The Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak is the largest of three sizes released as part of the Mobius line. Larger than both the 49 and the 57, this freestyle playboat will give you plenty of space in the cockpit while navigating your favorite paddling spots and it is the flagship of this product line. Here is an Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak review from an avid paddler along with product info, features, and specifications.

The Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak is truly one of the largest freestyle designs on the market. If you are a larger paddler or just enjoy a spacious cockpit area, then this is right up your alley. Though larger than either of the other models in this product line, the large size doesn’t impact the performance whatsoever. It is just as fast and agile rounded edges, a curved bow, and fast-accelerating lines to be a bounty of performance without sacrificing comfort. Suitable for both beginners and advanced paddlers, it will adapt to your skill level and provide a fantastic paddling experience for many years to come.

Performance and comfort are definitely the focus for the Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak. It features sculpted side walls that are built tough enough to handle any type of underwater threats. You will enjoy the easy maneuvering of this agile vessel. Also, it has excellent acceleration when you’re coming off of a wave. If you want a spacious cockpit that doesn’t cost you performance when you’re out freestyling, then the Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak is definitely a great choice for you.

Performance Review

During my Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak review, I feel like I really put it through the ringer. Having reviewed both the Mobius 49 and the Mobius 57, I had a pretty good idea of what to expect with this one. However, I was pleasantly surprised with how well this playboat still performed with the additional size; in fact I would put it exactly on par with the smaller versions. Great acceleration and mobility, plus the larger design seemed much more stable.

Versatility Review

As with the other two versions in Wave Sport’s Mobius line, it performs well in both whitewater and surf. This boat hits on every key factor I look for in a freestyle kayak, and the benefit of this particular model is that it offers some valuable cockpit space to boot. It doesn’t quite respond to my body movements as well as a slightly smaller playboats would. However, all things considered, it is still a very versatile boat indeed.

Cargo Space Review

If you compare the cargo capacity to the other two models, it is truly a night and day difference. Those extra few inches really make a huge difference. Plus, the added weight capacity allows you to bring along more gear for your voyage. While there are certainly other vessels on the market that offer more cargo space, I feel that what you get with the Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak is more than enough for most freestyle kayaking excursions.

Portability Review

Though it is a little longer and heavier than the other two versions, I was still happy with how easy it was to handle outside of the water. The handle is perfectly positioned for easy portability, and the high-quality design and craftsmanship yield a very sturdy boat that is still very lightweight for its size. I had no problems loading and unloading it from my roof rack by myself, so I think they crafted a pretty transportable product.

Overall Wave Sport Mobius 65 Kayak Review

I would rate my Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak review as a 5 out of 5 stars. I truly enjoyed the extra space in the cockpit that this boat afforded me during my review; though at my size it was probably a little more than I really needed. However, at my age, I never complain about a little more luxury added to my kayaking trips. The Wave Sport Mobius 65 kayak is a great choice for larger paddlers or those that love leg room, and like all Wave Sport products, you can look forward to a very sturdy boat that will stay in service for many seasons.
