Wilderness Systems Pungo 100 Kayak Review

The Wilderness Systems Pungo 100 kayak is specifically designed for smaller paddlers. Packed with many performance features, the Wilderness Systems Pungo 100 kayak is perfect for young kayakers of all styles and skill levels.

Pros

The Wilderness Systems Pungo 100 kayak features the patented Kayak Konsole, which is very handy for the recreational kayaker. A dual sized beverage holder, two storage dishes, and a quick access storage hatch make the Kayak Konsole a great addition to the Wilderness Systems Pungo 100 kayak.

Cons

The Wilderness Systems Pungo 100 kayak sits a bit oddly in the water. For lack of better terminology, you feel like you’re in the water instead of on the water when paddling the Wilderness Systems Pungo 100 kayak. Also, I think the shape of the cockpit opening could use some love. I was continually banging my elbows while I did my review of the Wilderness Systems Pungo 100 kayak.

Overall Review

I would rate my review of the Wilderness Systems Pungo 100 kayak as 3 out of 5. While I enjoyed the Kayak Konsole, the Wilderness Systems Pungo 100 kayak lacks the overall quality and reliability to be a top rated kayak. Furthermore, I think that you could attach the Kayak Konsole to any kayak and have the same convenient results.

I just purchased a Pungo 100 today. I LOVE IT. Seat is awesome, very comfortable, the deck is very handy. The dry port in front is great for cell phone, camera or what ever you want to keep dry. I was concerned about the 10′ length verses the 12′, but it is not a issue. It tracks very well. I have it on a large still water pond. I do not have a lot of strength so the weight is perfect for me.

Bought a Pungo 100 last year. Couldn’t ask for a better kayak. It tracks amazingly and has ample room. Recommend it for a novice or seasoned professional.
