Wilderness Systems Ride 135 Kayak w/ Rudder Review

The Wilderness Systems Ride 135 kayak with rudder is a premium sit on top (SOT) kayak from Wilderness Systems. The rudder adds a great deal of tracking and stability to the already stunning Wilderness Systems Ride 135 kayak. The Ride 135’s pontoon style hull brings a whole new level of stability to sit on top kayaking.

Pros

The Wilderness Systems Ride 135 kayak’s rudder system is a vast improvement over the standard Ride 135 model. Although the core design and features are identical, the added rudder makes the Wilderness Systems Ride 135 kayak truly stand out.

Cons

Unlike the standard model, the Wilderness Systems Ride 135 kayak with rudder can handle much larger swells and waves. The standard version is limited on to recreational kayaking, but the rudder allows you to paddle on water of all skill levels.

Overall Review

I would rate my review of the Wilderness Systems Ride 135 kayak with rudder as 5 out of 5. I was very impressed by the high capacity and the stability of the standard Ride 135, but the rudder system on this kayak has really put it over the top. Great job Wilderness Systems!

Tried this one out. Couldn’t get past the rudder deal. Recommend giving it a shot though.

I thought having a rudder would help with this Wilderness Systems 135. But really it just is a pain in the ass. I don’t recommend anyone getting this one.

  3. Leonard Thompson

Obviously this “Price is Right” guy doesn’t know a thing about using a kayak with a rudder. Douche.

  4. Roddy23

With the rudder this is one of the most stable sit on top kayaks I’ve ver riden on. I can’t recommedn this enough to anyone who’s starting off riding.
